Day 12 of NaBloPoMo

I recently went from having medium brown hair with a plethora of blonde streaks to becoming pretty much a whole blonde. Now I went to the salon, and got my hair coloured and cut a whole bunch. Seeing as I wasn’t feeling very well that day, I took some books, sat at the salon and read while I got my hair done. Once finished – 4.5 hours later (I have a lot of hair), @nachoman picked me up with the car, since as he was out doing errands.

Seeing as my hair took so long, I had missed my lunch and needed food quickly.  We decided to quickly pop by one of our favourite pubs (Jack’s Pub) where there are 50% (half price) appetizers everyday from 3pm to 6pm. The staff there is awesome, and they not only have some great food and service, they are able to deal with @nachoman‘s food allergies without even blinking an eye.

We entered the pub, sat down, and one our regular waitresses came on over to bring us some water and take our order. She was very surprised by my hair, and complimented me on it, which was nice, and we went on with talking about the horrible cold weather, the daily specials etc. So after a few minutes, @nachoman and I opened our laptops to do some work like we normally do at the pub. I was seated with my back to everyone, and all you could see at our table was @nachoman sitting with his laptop and my back with my blonde straight hair. I heard from across the room one of the other waitresses say, “Who is he with?” The second waitress walked over to our table to make sure @nachoman wasn’t there with some other girl!!! It was thoroughly amusing to see her face when she realized it was me.

The waitresses at the pub not only are awesome because they rock at their jobs, but the take care of making sure their regulars aren’t having lunch dates with random blonde girls! As they jokingly said “We have your back – don’t you worry”. So @nachoman has been laughing about this even still, since I guess having straight blonde hair just makes me look completely different.

Hey, change is good. Especially if it makes you laugh.
