World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, Goblins & the movie

I am extremely excited about the upcoming release of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Now with all the hubbub that preempted the release of the “so-so” Burning Crusade, I am not getting my hopes up, just in case it isn’t all that it is cracked up to be. But… While the Burning Crusade provided me with my favourite new playable race of the Blood Elves, I have high hopes for this release of Cataclysm…

Check out a recent beta clip of the Goblin gameplay screen and area:

It looks like a lovely combination of both old World of Warcraft with some nifty new additions, I am so excited to go up against the giant sea turtle (It looks surprisingly cute) or the teraptor hatchling. I especially am intrigued by the goblin race addition, since I am so used to seeing them but never having them as a playable race. I have heard from beta testers that there is a complete revamp of some zones and even more challenging quests than we saw in the WOTLK (Wrath of the Lich King). It is very exciting, as the somewhat dwindling “oomph” of WoW is now going to be sparked up once again with this newest release. It is quite exciting.

More exciting news as with the announcement a little while ago, the World of Warcraft Movie is coming up. I am more than interested in finding out who they cast as some of my favourite characters: from Aegwynn to Sylvannas Windrunner and it looks like Sam Raimi will be producing the movie, which should make for an epic whirlwind, as he is known for his movies such as Spiderman and Army of Darkness…

It should be a great movie, if it ever goes into production, or for that matter, if it ever goes into casting… I look forward to seeing whether they do the game justice.

Cheers,

Deanna
